About me

Hello everyone! I am Kat Kimmet and I am a senior Visual Effects major at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD)! I am a lighting artist with a preference to working in real time (Unreal Engine 5). I am from Charlotte, NC and my love for Visual Effects started when I was in high school. From the age of 6 up until early high school, I thought I was going to go to school to be a photographer, but that changed my junior year. I took the film classes that my school offered. I thought I wanted to be a film major after the Film 1 class, but this eventually changed too. Once I got to film 2, my teacher had a unit about jobs and related jobs to the film industry. Lo and behold one of the career options was a visual effects artist! I did more research outside of class and it seemed perfect! I changed my mind again from being a film major to being a visual effects major. It was the best decision I ever made. The freedom of being to create and the only limitation being my creativity has been such an amazing adventure! I wouldn't trade it for the world!
